Hi, I’m Alina.

I write contemporary romance about people who are trying to get their lives together while making a spectacular mess of their love lives.

I’ve always been fascinated by the small things that happen between people. The conversation that goes slightly wrong. The text you read three times before deciding what it means. The friend who knows you’re in trouble before you do. The moment when you realise you’ve been thinking about someone far more than is sensible.

My stories tend to begin there.

I like romance with plenty of feeling, but I also like it to be funny. Real life rarely gives us a soundtrack and a perfectly timed declaration of love. Sometimes you fall for someone while you're worrying about work, eating toast over the kitchen sink, or insisting to your friends that you are absolutely not interested in him.

I’m drawn to characters who are a little complicated, a little stubborn, and not always very good at doing what is best for them. They make mistakes. They change their minds. They say the wrong thing and then spend far too long wondering whether they should have said something else. In other words, they’re human.

I write about attraction, friendship, family, bad decisions, second chances, and the strange business of letting another person get close enough to see who you really are.

When I’m not writing, I’m probably reading, thinking about something I should be doing instead of reading, or making yet another cup of coffee.
